“I’ve been walking with the Lord for 20 years.” Maybe in the sense of time and chronology, but it begs the question: is the truth of the matter that maybe you’ve lived the SAME year 20 times over? Are you changed? Have you grown? Do you have victories under your belt? Increase in peace, revelation, wisdom and knowledge, any or all of the fruit of the Spirit? Do you look more like Christ or are you still stuck in the same holding pattern as when you began? Maybe it’s more like you have had 1 year in the Lord 20 times, maybe you have just walked around that same mountain for 20 years. Have you worn a rut in the one path you’ve been walking this whole time, just doing circles and never deviating from what you know or are familiar with, just staying in your comfort zone, being complacent and thinking: this is as good as it gets? This is the best I can do?
You are to grow up into all things in Christ. As He was, so are we to be on this earth. Did Jesus just rest on His laurels? Do just enough to barely squeak by? Did He give up, surrender, tell Himself or His disciples, “you know I just can’t do this. I’m too tired to minister today, too busy to be with My Father and pray. I am not in the mood to feed all these people, let’s just leave. I can’t heal all these people!” Could you imagine the consequences of that attitude in Jesus? So why is it okay for you, for any of us, to have it? This walk isn’t just about you and your life, it is about HIM and HIS LIFE lived THROUGH you and if you are not putting in the time, the effort, yielding, seeking, surrendering, then what is the point of your salvation exactly? Why did you say yes? To get into heaven? To keep you out of hell?
Well the point of salvation, friends, is to get hell OUT OF YOU and then get HEAVEN INTO YOU! So that YOU can be changed to look like Him, to fully become a SON OF GOD, to go and be a Kingdom Citizen, an ambassador, to bring Christ to others, to teach, preach, heal, save, love, bring change! To bring His Kingdom here to earth. Now. Today. Not in the future. Not in the sweet by and by! NOW! TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION – salvation means whole, healed, well, rescued, delivered….NOW!! You ARE HEALED and you can then bring healing to others! We are to go and BE THE LIGHT! How can you do that if you are extinguishing the flame by suffocating it with the junk of the world, with laziness, self-pity, selfishness, distractions, temporal endeavors that are empty and vain?
So many want the blessings without the sacrifice, say that they want the change in their lives but are completely unwilling to put in the time and effort because, guess what, EACH OF US has a responsibility in this. God does not just WAVE a magic wand and POOF, we become Brother and Sister Christian, full of patience and goodness and love. No, He tells us to die to self, to OBEY His Word, to ACT, to move, to do! And if you are doing little to nothing, then that is what you will receive. It’s the law of sowing and reaping. God does give us good things, He loves to bless because that is His nature, yes, however, there are things that you will not receive unless you go after them by faith. That is a Spiritual Law that He has put into place and He does NOT go back on His Word.
So, let me ask, do you just want to keep running in place? Walking and treading the same path over and over while groaning and complaining that what you’re praying for ain’t happening, you can’t understand why, maybe it’s not His will or not His timing, because if He brings you to it He’ll bring you through it, and you can’t have a testimony without a test and everyone knows the teacher is silent during a test, so when life gives you too much to stand, kneel, because you are just like Job and God is testing you….(please show me chapter and verse on ANY of these Christianese sayings…you won’t find them).
Or do you really want change? Do you want what He has? Do you want all that He is? What is He worth to you, because, my friend, you were worth His life, and He paid for yours with His blood. Does that not mean anything to you?
Deuteronomy 30:19-20 “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days.”
Get busy living or do nothing and remain as you are. It takes zeal and determination to live, but it takes absolutely no effort to die, or to remain dead. The choice is yours. YOURS.
